Marble is a metamorphic rock consisting primarily of calcite and dolomite.  It is formed by the metamorphism of limestone. Although it is usually white, beige and gray in colour, it often has irregularly coloured marks due to the presence of impurities such as silica and clay.

Marble is a more delicate stone as compared to granite and quartz.  It has an elegant and shiny appearance.  As time goes by, the shine will be replaced by a soft patina.  Marble is commonly used for flooring and feature walls (with lower usage applications).
